I am Dr. Tahira Soomro. I completed my FCPS training at Civil Hospital Karachi under the supervision of Dr. Humera Talat, and with the support and guidance of respected teachers Dr. Maria Mansoor, Dr. Dipa, Dr. Reema Mirza, and last but not the least, Dr. Zarnaz Wahid.

During my residency training, we had monthly tests for theory preparations and regular J-CLUBS and long case discussions, which significantly aided my examination preparation.

I also benefited greatly from “Derma Folder,” a platform that helped further polish my skills. This initiative, provided by Dr. Saadat, gathers residents from all over the country to discuss, share, and exchange knowledge and experiences. The group was instrumental in solving difficult MCQs, conducting slide sessions, preparing for TOACS, and improving our approach to short cases, lesion descriptions, history taking, and potential Viva questions during long and short cases. Beyond educational support, we received much-needed courage and emotional support, essential for staying strong during exams.

No words can fully express my gratitude for “Derma Folder.” This group has become a vital support system for every candidate undergoing FCPS/MCPS exams.

Thank you to Dr. Saadat and the entire Derma Folder team ,also special thanks to Dr. Rukhsana Khaled, who follows in Dr. Saadat’s footsteps, for their dedication to facilitating candidates during exams. I also extend my heartfelt thanks to all my friends and colleagues who were part of my exam preparations.

You all were amazing. May Allah bless this group with continued success.

Hi all,

I have done my MCPS & FCPS in dermatology. I completed my training from Sandeman Provincial Hospital, Quetta under supervision of Prof. Syed Shamsuddin (FCPS) & Prof. Sara Inayat (MCPS). Both my supervisor guided me in my whole training tenure. Soon after cleaning my theory I was transferred to periphery and was totally disconnected from learning environment. At that time I was very worry about my clinical exam & It was Dr. Sadat Shah’s Whatsapps group (dermafolder) which boosted me during this period. The group is really helpful in preparing theory & Clinical examination of MCPS/ FCPS. I regularly attended the sessions (clinical long/ short cases, & toacs stations). Alhamdallah I cleared my mcps clinicals in my second attempt and FCPS clinicals in my first attempt. I think after my supervisor’s guidance & my colleagues & other consultants of my ward this is dermafolder group which boosted my clinical knowledge and enabled me to come through the hardship. I am really thankful to my supervisors, consultants of my ward, my colleagues and Dr Sadat shah and his team for converting my struggle into success. Regards ❤️

Hi, I am Dr Zain Ali Raza, I did my FCPS in 2022 in the very 1st attempt, it was quite challenging as i am quite lazy person as i completed my training in 2020 but couldn’t be able to approve my dissertation during my training, 1st I was scared that i won’t be able to fulfil the eligibility criteria for exam, then after approval of my dissertation i started my prep for exam in january 2022 and i had to appear in march 2022 attempt, then i found out that there is group called derma folder but i followed derma folder on facebook and started doing mcqs which were available there, this was really helpful and i didn’t read even a single mcq book and i passed my written in 1st go. After written i joined whatsapp group of derma folder and that was game changing day, i did evry task on time, i just loved the discipline of the group. Dr Saadat Shah you are a blessing, this guy encourged me so so much and even he used to call me that you’ll do it, i was so much scared of viva that i had panic attack one day before and i was about to quit but then i composed myself and appeared in the viva and passed in 1st attempt. That was my success story, thanks to this group, thanks to Sir Saadat Shah, the bestest person and mentor, Sir stay blessed

Aoa everyone,

I’m Dr. Shegref i ve done fcps dermatology.my journey to achieve this degree was incredibly challenging. Initially, I was more inclined towards cardiology and nephrology after completing my IMM exam. However, despite my personal interests, my family encouraged me to pursue dermatology.

Starting my dermatology training in 2018, I struggled alot to develop an interest in this field. It wasn’t until I had the opportunity to work under the guidance of Brig Asher at CMH Rawalpindi for two months that my perspective shifted entirely. This experience ignited my passion for dermatology.

And then I found support and guidance from this platform Dermafolder and from great mentors like Dr. Sadaat, Eraj Khan Amna Malik Anum Shahzadi ,dr Sarosh Mumtaz and many others. Balancing studying with the responsibilities of raising three young children proved to be incredibly challenging, but with the help of Almighty Allah& perseverance and faith in myself, I pushed through.

I’m immensely grateful to the entire faculty of Dermafolder for their unwavering support and motivation, which played a significant role in helping me achieve my FCPS dermatology. Alhumdulillah!

I am Dr. Tuyiba Ilyas. I have done my training from Mayo Hospital in 2021. The last and most essential year of training was wasted due to covid 19. One of my friend told me about DERMA FOLDER and i joined that group. It was an absolute game changer in my exam preparation. Starting from theory preparation, making mcqs from different assigned topics broadened my vision.

Viva preparation from this folder was amazing.

Anything you felt difficult to understand was solved and answered at this platform. The way everyone helped each other is beyond writing.

Ups and downs are a part of journey. Don’t lose hope by Peer pressure and demoralising of some individuals.

Black sheeps are everywhere.

Hats off to DR. Saadat and his team for this collaborated plateform.

I wholeheartedly recommend it to any student looking to take their exam preparation to the next level.

Assalamo alaikum. M Dr. Saadia Ilyas. I have completed my training from JHL in 2021. My FCPS prep journey started when i was in my postpartum time. I failed my written that time. But i didnt loose hope n continued it again although slowly but persistantly. At that time i got to know abt dermafolder thuru some of my friends.i joined it n it helped me alot. Especially in viva prep i think no one can clear it whithout this folder. As the time of next attempt approached i suffered from dengue fever 7days before my exam. it was much difficult and also somewhat hopeless time for me. But Alhamdulillah i got thuru written. Then the most difficult n tiring part started. Started going to ward to ward..hsp to hsp..n reaching back to home almost at night time. Life is so unpredictable…i again catched mumps infection few days before my viva attempt. N another major stress was leaving family behind n going to karachi for viva. At that time i cudnt clear . Life seemed so much stressed, hopeless..

People around you start to mock you, disheart you. Bt if u have hope in Allah Almighty everything ends in ur favour.

Again i appeared from karachi n i cleared it. Throught out the journey of this exam even ur friends r not with u..even ur seniors r like u r nalaik if u didnt clear in first attempt..people start mocking u and teasing u.

Bt what matters is only u n Allah knows from which situation u r going through. So never ever loose hope. Never listen to such people who r happy to see u falling down.

2 most important lessons which i have learnt during this whole journey was…
مشکل وقت میں ماں اور خدا کے سوا کوئ ساتھ نھیں دیتا

Last but not least plz pay back some respect to selfless teachers like Dr saadat shah who although seems strict abt rules n regulations of this grp is actually playing the main character behind our successes.

Aoa I am Dr Sara Mubeen

I completed my training from mayo hospital lahore in July 2023.

I joined derma folder on Facebook 2 years back

I used to go through all the stuff shared on Facebook page daily while going to mayo hospital especially slide session. It helped a lot in improving my diagnosing skills.

Afterwards I joined derma folder WhatsApp group.I got strong motivation to study hard.I participated in every task given to me during my exam.I gave all tests which were held in my ward.

Alhamdulillah I was able to pass my exam in my first attempt soon after my training ended due to endless efforts of my supervisors, teachers at mayo hospital and Thankyou so much Dr saadat and derma folder family for keeping us motivated and for providing best teaching faculty.May Allah bless you all.🙏

I completed my training from Fauji Foundation Hospital Rawalpindi from 2016-2018.Unfortunately I was unable to pass my written in 1st attempt, and obviously got disheartened to take further attempt afterwards. My friend and class fellow Marium Maryiam Umair who was already part of this group made me join the group and under the guidance of Dr Saadat I not only found my motivation but also was able to pass my written exam. Then came the harder part when there was breakout of Covid and opds closed down,no patients in wards .Derma folder was a great blessing .Prepared long cases ,short cases, slides everything I every thing I prepared from Derma folder. Finally I passed my exam in May 2022.And Dr Saadat was the first person I called to share my success.Proud to be a part of Derma folder.Thank you Derma Folder Team…..

i m Dr Saira Riaz..i did my training of FCPS Dermatology from Mayo Hospital Lahore..when i was preparing for my exam , a friend recommended me to join Derma Folder and i m glad i did..No doubt we learnt a lot from our seniors in wards and opds bt this group helped a lot in what to prepare and how to prepare for exam for both Theory and clinicals..Mcqs practice from Facebook folders to long case, short case and clinical slides, this group helped in everything. Toacs preparation used to be a nightmare bt seniors and teachers of derma folder are true saviour. And most importantly i got a lot of motivation from this group to not loose hope. Dr-Saadat Shah and all the admins deserve lot of appreciation for maintaining discipline in the group in every session and for providing the residents a valuable platform where everyone is ready to teach juniors without expecting anything in return.

Derma folder has an important role in my success and helping me to pass my exam.May Allah bless Dr-Saadat Shah for his selfless service for juniors.ameen

I did my training from CMH multan from 2020 to 2022

During my training , there was era of COVID and for 8 months opd remained closed .

At the same time , I got married and then had personal commitments along with this training .

During my training , the problem I faced a lot was change of 3 supervisors plus COVID breakdown and One very important and significant prob was …..

There was no platform for guidance for MCPS exam .

When I completed my training , a very good friend of mine tell me about derma folder .

I requested sir sadaat to add me . He added me within 10 days of my request . When I joined , at start I was so depressed bcz I didn’t know how to start . Then I started my study chp wise n used to ask different questions from dermafolder family .

All teachers guided me … Everyone was very very cooperative . And then I passed theory

After that I took regular clinical slides session and went to nishtar hospital daily for short n long cases for 6 months .

N Alhamdulilah by grace of Almighty Allah I passed under guidance of this folder n continuous hard work .

Assalamoalaikum! I am Dr. Sahar Mateen FCPS Dermatologist. I got done with my training from Civil Hospital Karachi in July 2020. We used to have hectics opds and daily ward rounds along with evening calls once or twice a week and all these things made us to learn because ultimately we learn from our patients, we used to have monthly written test and weekly long case sessions which helped alot but still CPSP exam is a way different thing. We were told by our seniors since our initial days of training that you won’t be able to clear this exam in first attempt and since then this exam looked like a nightmare. I was done with my first read of rooks but didn’t have idea how to prepare for exam then one of my colleagues told me about DERMA FOLDER group and then the actual preparation begins. Back then we used to have short question answers in our theory exam and I didn’t have any idea how to solve them and manage time accordingly. In that crucial hours DERMA FOLDER was a blessing. Dr saadat and his team made me learn to answer those tricky questions and I was able to clear my theory exam in 1st attempt.

Then another totally different journey of Clinical exam begins! Derma folder again was a great help. There is alot to say about how this group has helped me and alot of candidates to go through this exam and just thank you is not enough for it.

In this era of competition there are only few people who are ready to give their time and put effort to help others, Dr. Saadat and his team is one of them.

I am humbled to be a part of Derma folder family. May you guys be rewarded in this world and hereafter! Ameen

AoA my name is Dr Batool Rehman. I did my training from civil hospital Karachi under supervision of great mentors, Dr Reema Mirza , Dr Humaira Talat and Dr Maria Mansoor. Despite patients load and busy opds, they always took out time to organize weekly slide sessions, presentations, long case sessions etc. Which helped alot in our exam preparation. Then came to know about derma folder in our last year and it was a blessing. Helped alot in theory preparation, from guidance of how to prepare for theory to solving past papers along with other colleagues through out Pakistan, it truly was a blessing. Passed theory in first attempt and then came the dreaded clinicals. But again structured timetable of derma folder with short cases, histopath, viva ques and toacs stations, we religiously followed everything along with clinical cases in hospitals and miraculously cleared clinicals too in first attempt. It was like a dream. And the credit goes to our teachers, derma folder colleagues and ofcourse Sir Sadaat. He is a gem of a person. To take out so much time and effort in organizing theory and viva rota, and to maintain so much discipline is praiseworthy. Allah will reward him for guiding and helping so many candidates.

In the end I would like to advice my juniors to have an exam oriented approach from the start of the training, join derma folder to get better guidance from seniors and be kind and empathetic to patients as in the end their dua’s and your hardwork will get you through.

Dr zillehuma tariq here

Where to start and when to start🤔

Being a army spouse, its difficult to do training and clear exam without dermafolder as some time rolling in one province and other time to the other with totally different circumstances..

I started my training in sandeman provincial hospital with my 3 lil kids and thanks to respected Dr Sara Inyat who is all time helping and giving their trainees favour when ever required..During trainee our respected seniors Dr murwarid baloch and few others keep discussing dermafolder and there daily tasks and admired Dr saadat and his team then one day I texted Dr saadat to add me in group. After few months, one morning he added me and that day I was so happy that now I will do my best and get whatever Dr saadat teaching on daily basis. He is a man of rules and he strict to it unless you show him that you are hardworking and you want to earn something than he consider your problem otherwise he temporary removed but Thank God I never get removed from group. With this group and my daily study routine and my very dear friend Dr kalsoom bilal who was and who is with me through thick and thin I cleared my theory in first go..

JazakAllah

Stay blessed Derma Folder..

I am Dr Farina Zameer

I joined derma folder when there were 30 participants only on this forum

I did my residency (MCPS) from abbasi shaheed hospital under supervision of great mentor Prof Naseema kapadia..

My exam journey was kind of rough , but prof Naseema has always taught us to stay persistent.

Later I realized I had problem with short cases

I always get through long cases and slides but out 6 there would a 1 short case that would creat nuisance

When I joined derma folder I thought to have some motivation to have more perfection

As it was an era of lock down ,.so we cumulatively did zoom presentations of both long and short case

And Dr-Saadat Shah made sure every time to cover the Topic.with viva

Later this practice created perfection

Initially there were many bloppers Sumbul Nisar Erum Siddiqui 😂

This forum not only gave perfection in subject but also great memories ❣️

After clearing exam I also did a little mentorship and that experience was also very fruitful because when u teach u learn more

This forum is one of its kind , above all there is no personal interest of people who initiated and running this forum

All the best every one and congratulations Saadat for this successful journey

My exam journey with derma folder 📝

My name is Dr. Erum Siddiqui, and my path through the field of dermatology has been both challenging and richly rewarding. I completed my FCPS in dermatology at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital under the guidance of the renowned dermatologist, Prof. Naseema Kapadia. Throughout my residency, Madam Naseema Kapadia was not only my mentor in mastering dermatological treatments but also instilled in me a deep sense of ethics and empathy towards patients—qualities that are essential yet often overlooked in medical practice today.

Despite the department’s lack of a dedicated ward, which demanded extra effort in managing inpatients, the resilience and dedication learned during this time were invaluable. After finishing my residency in August 2019, a personal milestone followed; I got married and relocated to Malaysia. However, my commitment to dermatology drew me back to Pakistan within four months to prepare for my exams.

Supported by my parents, spouse and senior colleagues, I embarked on an intensive study regimen. I dedicated eight hours daily to reviewing textbooks and solving past papers, managing to cover an expansive syllabus in just 2.5 months. By the grace of Allah, I passed the theory exam on my first attempt in February 2020.

However, the clinical exam proved to be a more daunting challenge, especially with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lockdowns not only disrupted hospital visits but also heightened my anxiety and stress. It was during this period that Dr. Sadaat and I decided to create an online support platform, which became known as “Derma Folder.” Starting as its first member, I witnessed the group’s rapid expansion as it became a lifeline for dermatology exam candidates isolated by the pandemic.

Dr. Sadaat’s initiative to host online clinical discussions and task completions on Derma Folder provided us with a virtual yet effective platform for clinical practice. I particularly benefited from the zoom meetings organized for history presentation and case assessments, where our seniors provided crucial feedback.

Additionally, Dr. Ashar’s online zoom classes were instrumental in honing my skills in histopathology. Derma Folder not only facilitated our clinical preparation but also supported us emotionally through a stressful phase, boosting our confidence and sharing vital insights about exam preparation.

After conquering the exams, I joined the teaching faculty of Derma Folder, driven by a desire to give back to a community that had given me so much. Helping others at no cost was a core principle of Derma Folder, and I believe that such efforts are blessed with success and well-being by Allah.

Derma Folder has grown into a well-organized, exam-focused community that stands as a beacon of hope for all dermatology candidates. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sadaat and all the members of our team for nurturing this platform. It is my sincere hope that Derma Folder continues to thrive and assist future generations of dermatologists.💕

Hi everyone I m dr kinza kanwal ,

I cleared my fcps in 2023

Journey with derma folder started in year 2021 when i came to know about the group and was on waiting list to be added for theory exam

This group helped me alot by preparing mcqs and discussions on the group so it was easy to revise and memorize

And i was able to clear my theory in first attempt in 2021

Then started preparing for viva but that was totally a different journey than the theory exam

I was regretting for not joining that group earlier because i was lacking in many things including description part and histopathology so i was not able to go through in 2 attempts but during that time due to this group i was able to become better and better with time in my viva prep due to continous revision of things in derma folder and was able to go through in my next attempt

I owe my success to this group dr saadat shah has done a great job by creating this group and maintaining the discipline

I completed my dermatology training from Abbasi Shaheed Hospital under madam Naseema Kapadia -The same supervisor and institute where Dr Saadat himself was trained before us.It was Jan 2021 and I had not even completed one read of rooks.

We had daily opds but lacked the basic infrastructure of wards etc .From the start our supervisor tried to inculcate this in us that we have to pick and adopt knowledge wherever we can get it from .After completing training I was ready to go from pillar to post but dermafolder gave me a proper guideline and structure.I started theory with job in 2021 and in second attempt cleared it .From how to go about in theory to slide sessions .I participated in daily sessions, Facebook mcqs for theory etc and after much hard work cleared the theory.Regarding the TOACs ,long and short cases +histology .Again dermafolder came to be my saviour. You need to be disciplined and follow the structure. There will be days when you want to give up on this .But this platform will keep you motivated .Small drops together make an ocean of success.

I passed FCPs dermatology in 2022 .

Everything I learned ,I owe it to this platform .I am blessed to have seniors like Dr-Saadat Shah ,@ Erum Siddiqui Sumbul Nisar to name a few .We learned from our own mistakes and we learned a lot from discussions too .During viva prep it is imp to manage ward practice with some group activity.

In the end , be ready to give back to group as well .Because you learn alot by teaching too .

To cut short ,I wasn’t even finished with my theory when I completed my residency.I did it with my friend and along the help of dermafolder from start till end .You all can do it too .

All the guidelines are here along with amazing cherished help.🌟

Aoa everyone,

I’m Dr. Nasira Nasr.

I completed my FCPS training from PEMH Rawalpindi.

After my written exam I joined the Derma Folder group for my Toacs prepration which greatly helped me in clearing my TOACS and clinical exams.

I’m truly inspired by the discipline and hard work I witness on this study forum.

The level of commitment demonstrated here is truly admirable.

Through the creation of a platform for studying dermatology exams, Dr. Saadat Shah is not only providing a valuable resource for aspiring dermatologists, but also fostering a community of learners who can support and learn from one another.

I’m truly grateful to Dr. Saadat Shah for such an amazing platform for the derma community.

Salam everyone

I m Dr Ayesha Mumtaz

I did my FCPS training from Sir gangaram hospital lahore in 2020

I joined dermafolder in 2021 when I was preparing for my written exam. But due to kids and unavoidable circumstances,I couldn’t appear in exams. In 2022 I again joined dermafolder and followed it truly and Alhamdulillah cleared my theory in first attempt.

I wasn’t prepared for toacs and cases so I failed both.

In my second attempt, due to dermafolder I passed my toacs but didn’t pass my long, short cases.

In my last attempt ,I fully followed dermafolder and noted pearls told by sir dr Dr-Saadat Shah and Alhamdulillah cleared my exam.

In this journey, after Allah Almighty, this group and especially dr Sadaat was a greatest blessing.

Jazak Allah sir…..prayers for U always

I am Dr. Sadia Mohsin from Lahore and i complete my training from CMH Lahore in the year 2022 and requested dr Saadat to add me to derma folder for exam prep. I had previously joined it during my training but was kicked out because I did not complete a task andn it was quite fast paced in those days when everyone had to make mcqs from assigned topics. I don’t know if Dr saadat remembers that.

Anyway, I cleared theory in one go thanks to Derma folder. But then came the TOACS and viva bit. Which i was not prepared for as we did not have a structured training program in my institute and I barely had had any experience with Long/short cases and toacs. And to top it all off i couldnt study for my first viva attempt due to some personal reasons as well. Also i took it lightly since Id never failed an exam in my whole life!

But the experience taught me that Dermatology part 2 clinical exam cannot be taken lightly. Its a different game altogether!

For the next attempt i went crazy. Did toacs. All possible stations. Followed derma folder.

Polished my clinicals and descriptions. Crammed all i could. Cleared TOACs with great marks but then came the long case. Bad luck with the patient and short timing and i couldn’t clear it…despite not doing too badly! Big blow to my ego and confidence. Like i said from never failing an exam, I went to failing twice. I was so close.

So final attempt, and i kept my head high. And i followed derma folder through out. Despite only having my long case/short cases left, i followed through out the theory prep, and then the toacs as well..because i didnt want to leave any stone unturned. And finally i cleared it! And Alhumdulillah it was worth it and it happened when it was supposed to and the way it was supposed to. And i see it this way that i got to study everything more and more so yes i feel like i know more!

But derma folder is a great asset to all exam candidates. It covers EVERYTHING. i still follow viva prep/slide sessions to stay in touch with academics.

I wish Dr. Saadat Shah all the best for the future. Hes running it so well without personal interest. He deserves all the best.

I am Dr.Zunaira. FCPS, dermatology.

Here’s my success story!

My training completed in year 2019 and like many of you, i had to leave my parent institute (CDA hospital, Isb) and had to move to my home far away.

I had 2 kids and needed a job with the fear of passing part2 all over me. I just can’t forget that time when I didn’t have any study partner, was away from teaching environment and had lots of family responsibilities.

I managed to get through my theory exam by the grace of Allah, The Almighty and came to know about dermafolder WhatsApp group through my junior colleague.

I requested sir saadat to add me in dermafolder viva prep group in 2022. And that was the day when i was totally amazed to see the dedication of sir saadat & enthusiasm and devotion of the members.

I can’t recall even a single moment when i texted sir saadat or any other group member and called for help and they didn’t respond. I wish i could be as little selfless as sir saadat is. The discipline in this group is unbelievable. And was the reason of my success.

This group was and still is the blessing for me even if i am a consultant today, i owe it to this group. Because the motivation i got through this group is matchless and I couldn’t have done it without this group, after Allah’s grace.

At the end, i would like to say that we all walk through different paths in our lives. Never compare yourself to anyone, because you are the only one of your ownself. Hardwork, dedication and trust in Allah and yourself is the key to success.

I highly recommend my juniors to join this group and be the part of this amazing journey. Best of luck and good wishes for all😇

Im Dr Maryam Qayyum , i completed my FCPS training from sir gangaram hospital lahore in 2020 and there was covid everywhere and i returned my hometown in gujrat with two toodlers …luckily a friend suggested me this group dermafolder and i sent a friend request which was accepted by Great teacher Dr Saadat..I started preparation for theory exam with dermafolder ,did all the tasks given by the group , preparing for exam with all the pcandidates in group made this journey so easy that i never felt that im alone studing for the exam. Due to covid affecting seriously my mother and father in law , i kept slow pace with the group trying to complete all tasks on time and giving time to famil as well and cleared written exam in 2021. This group was ablessing in disguise , i was so impressed by punctuality and discipline in the group and the credit goes to dr saadat ,i have never seen so dedicated teacher and how he used to keep an eye on every candidate and this all resulted in making so many successful dermatologists. After clearing written exam ,i followed the group for viva preparation and atlast succeded in clearing exam in 2022.In viva this grouped helped alot from clinical examination skills to audios and viva questions, the efforts of this group cant be explained in words ,i would advise all the exam candidates to strictly follow this group and keep on trying till you succeed…may Allah make us a source of sadqa jaria like dr saadat and this group in imparting knowledge to our juniors.

I am Dr. Sadia Javaid . My journey in MCPS Dermatology began significantly in April 2022 when a colleague introduced me to the Derma Folder group. Initially skeptical about using WhatsApp for exam preparation, I soon embraced the challenge. Despite being removed twice from the group by Dr. Sadat, my resolve only strengthened. This was a novel approach for me, given my limited experience with social media educational platforms like the Facebook theory group, but I found the learning process immensely rewarding. My perseverance paid off when I passed the MCPS Dermatology theory examination on September 29. Bolstered by this success, I continued my dedication and achieved another significant milestone by passing my clinical exams for MCPS Dermatology in May at this point of life. I whole heartedly endorse Derma folder as a definite contributor to my success!

I am Dr Zaira Aslam. i did my fcps training from mayo hospital lahore.all was going superb in my training under kind supervision of Dr faria asad and Dr ijaz hussain when in our final year covid broke out.our wards were shut close .no rounds no patients,no classes ,no hands on.our ward was allocated for treatment of covid patients .we try to cover our loss sitting in homes but gradually start losing hopes and forgetting everything about how to approach a patient and treat him in hospital.just at that time i came to know about this group and was lucky enough to join this .since then i am part of this group and not a single chance i ever missed to keep myself member of this group. after Allah who is Almighty caretaker, it is due to this group i passed my theory and clinical besides my government job, my kids ,household chores.

Dr saadat is such a great teacher that most of us didnt know each other by face but he knows his each and every student by heart.it is sometimes so strange for me that how does he comes to know the little deficiencies of each student struggling to pass exam. under umbrella if his efforts and kind guideness ,hundreds of doctors are becoming dermatologists. the encyclopedia of this group is so big that u most of the times even dont need many books to revise .u just scroll and find answer to ur each question.i shall be thankful to this group and dr saadat throughout my life for helping me out in difficult phase of my life.

lastly i want to say that its Allah who knows when is ur best time to achieve success so believe in Him and never lose hope.Resilience is the key to open every door.

I am Dr Saira Jabeen, FCPS Consultant Dermatologist. I did my Dermatology training from Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar.

After completion of my training I joined my MO job in DHQ hospital and was preparing for exam too. During that period I came to know about Dermafolder group from some of my colleagues. I joined this group and was selected by Dr Saadat for rearrangement team. It was a great experience and I felt lucky enough to be a part of this great platform of Dermatology in Pakistan. I have learned alot from this group during my exam preparation journey. It was really hard to study with job so I decided to quit job and started my preparation whole heartedly with full dedication. Only my Allah and my family know how much difficult times I had been through this whole journey along with my two little kids but eventually my hard work paid off and I succeeded.

I owe my success to Allah Almighty, my worthy supervisor Dr Abdur Rahim Khan, the prayers and sacrifices of my parents and my family and Dermafolder group specially Dr Saadat for his selfless efforts.

In the end i would like to state that there is no short cut to success. It requires Allah’s Blessings, your full dedication, sacrifices, full family support and the best of your efforts.

I am Dr Rukhsana khalid, FCPS dermatologist, D.Derm (RCPI).

I graduated from King Edward Medical College and completed my training in 2021 from my parent institute, Mayo Hospital Lahore and cleared my exam in 2022.

I joined derma folder in final year of my training after recommendation of my worthy seniour colleague. I still remember her precious words ” aik whatsapp pe group hai derma folder ka wo boht serious wala group hai, tasks milte hain agar na karo to group se nikaal detay hain” 😁 Hence, despite this threat i joined with whole heartedly.

I had been an active participant of both facebook and whatsapp group.

I used to conduct histology & clinical slide sessions regularly during my exam preparation. After clearing exam, i became a part of teaching faculty and entrusted a task of reviewing histology, making theory rota and supervising it that i thoroughly enjoyed. Alhamdulilah.

We were lucky in initial years of our training to had monthly tests, weekly presentation, journal clubs, short & long cases, slide sessions etc in our department. Our daily round discussions by the consultants were also very beneficial. Then, due to covid pandemic, final year of our training got badly affected. But i did not lose hope, i joined derma folder group, it helped alot in minimising that training gap. I used to study in my college library uptil late at night. Worked hard to compensate my deficiencies.

I appeared in sept 2021, the historical exam, in which only 5 candidates were passed from whole country. I still remember that day, i was preparing for clinicals without wasting time after theory and i was sure enough i will get through it with ALLAH’s mercy but i couldnot!.. That was the first break i ever encountered! But during that moment, i remained grateful, i didnot question ALLAH’s decree. I can clearly recall words i uttered ” I am pleased with you Allah, you be pleased with me” These were my first words after checking result.

Any way, purpose of sharing is just to reinforce the belief that ALLAH has better plans for everyone, when your plan fails it means now HIS plan is working. And surely, HE is the best planner. HE has HIS own ways of blessing everyone at an appropriate time. We should never question HIM. Never!.

After that i was fortunate enough to clear theory and clinicals (karachi) in one go. I passed with ALLAH’s blessing. This is for those who are afraid of karachi. Dont be afraid of exam stations and examiners. Just do your best.

“I failed when i expected most, i passed when i choosed not to expect rather did my best”. This is purely in ALLAH’s hand. So never be disappointed at your failour. It comes to make you better person. This is the test of your demeanor.

Coming back to derma folder, i will always be grateful to this platform. It has a huge role in making me what i am today. This is the exclusive platform of its sort that’s not only striving to impart quality education but inculcating a sense of discipline, respect and ethics. My best wishes are with the dermafolder team for future endeavors.

Last but not the least, i would give message to everyone who is reading this. Even the tiniest act of kindness never goes unrewarded. You might not realise it at that moment but it goes a long way.

So always choose to be kind!!

Signing off!

My FCPS Success story

2019, a year with the classic era of covid-19 pandemic.

All the survivors thought, they are lucky, but the demises of their loved ones all over the world was heart wrenching.

My training for FCPS dermatology ended in January, 2019.

With the end of my training, FCPS part-2 exam stood against me like an impossible dream.

Every institute was closed, no-one was welcoming to guide us and teach us on how to hail this difficult exam.

Amongst those dark times, a ray of hope arose in the form of our big brother and a truly dedicated teacher, Dr *Abraham Mandokhel*

His dedication and sincerety took us towards the successful passing of our written exam.

Many of us became true friends.

Then came the next 2 steps which seemed impossible to excel.

Anyhow, another dedicated senior took the lead and guided us through our journey.

*Dr Saadat Shah*, yet another gem in dermatology, took the lead selflessly and decided to make WhatsApp group and started teaching us online.

At each moment, this completely Stranger man, became our guide

He used to take our classes daily.

Each day, we were alotted a different task.

With full cooperation and guidance of Dr Saadat and my lovely and sincere colleagues took part in every conversation, we all cleared many confusions together,

We used to make the list of questions for viva, we used to describe the clinical slides for short cases, Dr Saadat used to become a patient and ask us to take the history in the alloted time.

The histopathology classes, clinical slides classes, toacs slides and what not?

We were all riding the roller coaster.

I was fortunate enough to pass the toacs in first attempt but couldn’t get through long case.

In the very next attempt, I passed the viva exam as it was nothing.

And you know what?

Every nook and corner of the exam was taught to us in our virtual classes.

So I became so easy just to stick to *Derma Folder* and *ace the exam like a pro*

So I would conclude by saying

everything in this world is possible when you whole heartedly try, Allah make countless paths of ease for you and take you to your success.

P.S. don’t stop trying once you fail. Just try , try again.

Allah bless you all.

I have a fear of histopathology. But dermafolder helps me to overcome this fear as well .

during whole journey of learning and passing exam dermafolder taught me a lot .

Best thing about group is discipline , selfless and untiring hardwork of Dr Saadat and his team .( Alhamduliah I am also part of this team Whatsapp+ Facebook group )

  • I am Dr. Eraj Khan FCPS dermatology. I did my derma training from DHq hospital Faisalabad. I was one of the few lucky ones who had a good teaching department. I had a habit of reading everything so that did not turn out to be in my favour when it came to exam prep. That’s when I joined dermafolder. I can’t forget the long discussions on ambiguous Mcqs. Dermafolder mainly stepped in for my viva/Toacs prep. I cleared it in first attempt only coz of dermafolder. All Toacs stations and viva questions were shared in detail. Dr saadat arranged online long cases and that helped me the most in history taking. May Allah bless dr saadat and all mentors of dermafolder for always being there to buck everyone up and keep the morale high.

Assalam o alaikum I’m Dr samina Arshad

I did my training from CMH Lahore and cleared my exam in July 2023 and my training was the same as many training institutes but the day I joined derma folder took me to a new enthusiastic journey of passing my exam especially there was a video clip shared by derma folder when I was preparing for written that gave me the energy to focus while preparing for written exam which was a huge deal for me and was almost impossible without derma folder so

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible community of dermatology enthusiasts in the Derma Folder WhatsApp group, who played a pivotal role in my journey to completing my specialization. This group was more than just a platform for sharing knowledge and resources – it was a constant source of motivation, support, and encouragement. From insightful discussions on complex cases to last-minute exam tips and study materials, the collective expertise and generosity of the group members helped me navigate the challenges of my program with confidence. I’m forever grateful for the late-night study sessions, the words of encouragement, and the friendships forged through this group. Thank you, Derma Folder, for being an indispensable part of my academic journey and for helping me become a better dermatologist!”

I am Dr Faisal Ramzan consultant dermatologist..After completion of my FCPS residency in 2022 from Jinnah Hospital Lahore, i joined DHQ hospital khanewal as Emergency M.O as no other seat was available. With hectic routine and no connection with my parent institute except one or two colleagues i had to prepare for theory and viva exams, Derma folder was the only source of preparation for me most of the times. Was allowed only 15 days leave for viva preparations, but as i have been trained under Prof dr. tariq Rasheed, Prof Dr.lamees and with efforts of derma folder/Dr. Saadat shah which kept me in touch with dermatology when my exposure to derma pts was zero, i was successful in clearing part 2.

Hope dr saadat shah continue this selfless act. Ameen

I m Dr Madiha kaleem fcps dermatologist.

I completed my training in 2020 Feb..I did my training from shalamar hospital & there the more you get senior resident the more u are put under pressure of tough roster , more presentations and heavy opd unlikely the most other institutions where the final year residents are partially relived from duties ( calls / opd) especially in the last six months when they eat their rooks & have their tests regularly so by the end of their training they have already gone through the rooks & have given there scq test as well..I already planned during my training that I will take time after completion of my training and will give mature attempt so I have made little schedule that I will come to hospital regularly & will do my study here and will make study partner as well but Allah has other plans for us ..in march COVID hit the world & every thing shut down..libraries were closed & in hospital no one is willing to come for combine study a big challenge indeed ..at that time by Allah’s will one day I was being added in derma folder group by Dr Sadat..I didn’t know him nor did I request him ..I was part of another silent derma prep group from where I was being added here by Dr Sadat..and from here the journey begins..Dr erum Siddiqui batch was preparing for viva at that time and I was literally had heart attack every time in viva long call where I watched candidates how they are discussing viva points and giving answers to each other..& I just thought k yeh Kon aala log Hein Jo written pass kar chuky hein or viva dyny ja rhy hmara pta nhe Kya huna..

After sometime I was being added in theory candidate rota I didn’t have any study partner so I changed my while study schedule according to folder..in the day and in night I spare consecutive hours to go through each and every detail and question discussed in group, full filled all tasks given to me ..I purchased exam material from other seniors and that was very little ..in derma folder I got much material free of cost..so many questions of exams I came to know for very first time in derma folder so many concepts were clear first time while discussing things in folder so truley was my only study partner during theory prep and I cleared in first attempt..than came viva part how nicely Dr Sadat designed every thing for us how he engaged young consultants to gave their time to up coming candidates..it was really a thing that no body can do..I will always be in debt for their continuous push and motivation for us

Where do I even begin? During that period, I was the only candidate for the FCPS exam and I had not a single soul to revise with.My husband was stationed 600km away in a war-torn area, leaving me to care for two children while balancing my training and studies alone. Despite feeling anxious, restless and frustrated at times, I realized that the exam process is inherently challenging. So, I resolved to give it my all and move past it once and for all. Thanks to my supervisors who were kind enough to own me till the end, Dr-Saadat Shah and the entire Derma Folder faculty, I had the opportunity for thorough preparation and revision. With the grace of Almighty Allah, I successfully passed the exam, including the clinicals swiftly. Truly, Allah has been very kind.

Derma folder and sir Saadat has all the credit of how i achieved my goal.

My training ended in 2017 in Nishtar, after that i started my job in a far away city in emergency department .i did not appeared in any exam for 3years as i was raising my 4th kid along vth my job.i cleared my theory exam in 2020.

In my first clinical exam i have zero clinic knowledge due to 4 years gap after training and my job experience was also in medical emergency.

Here comes the time when i started to learn things slowly vth derma folder.it was era of covid-19 and we have very limited access to opds and patients. All the short cases and long cases i learned were through only one source that was derma folder created by our mentor dr.Saadat.

I am so impressed how he manage to check each and every description of cases, slides session at night and many more work of toacs.

For me my total fcps training is with derma folder,as i have learnt all my clinic knowledge through this group and then practised it vth my beloved study partners.

Sach bat to ye hy k sir saadat sy apny supervisor sy bhi zyada dar lagta tha,i am very obliged to sir for his contribution to my success.

May Allah give you more strength to continue this effort.Aameen

Dr. Nuzha Niazi FCPS Dermatology here 👩🏻‍⚕️.. i consider myself very lucky to be amongst those who clear their written & oral exam in first attempt 😌 Dermafolder definitely had a huge contribution in my success 🌟

I did my training from Mayo Hospital Lahore, which got completed in 2020. Mayo was my parent institution & PGRs were lucky to have regular classes, monthly tests , slide sessions & academic activities in the dept. I got to know about DermaFolder while preparing for my theory exam. I was scared to join it then, cuz’ I got to know about the strict daily rota etc … ‘har baat per gp se nikal dete hain’ , yeh sunna tha mein ne 🫣 .. jub written pass hogya tu viva prep ke liye bari himmat jorr ke gp join kia 🤓

Honestly, I got impressed with the discipline & decorum of the gp !!

Pata yeh chala keh ‘zimedari se task kero ge, tu koi nahi nikaalta’ 😇

I used to be very punctual in carrying out my tasks & followed the case discussions closely. The gp gave me many opportunities to cover my weak areas. I started conducting Histo slide sessions daily on the folder, cuz’ Histo was my weakest point! The faculty & seniors were always there to guide us 🙏🏼 I owe Sir Saadat a BIG THANKYOU for his honest efforts towards all the exam candidates. He knows no-one personally but treats all the candidates like his own trainees 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓

I wish all the juniors success in their exam journey. Just be honest & consistent with your preparation .. Dermafolder’s there to groom & guide you ✨️

Before joining I wasn’t aware of how beneficial it would turn out to be!

But Alhamdulliah for seniors to guide us to join this amazing platform .

This is one of those rare platforms where nobody holds back there knowledge and shares at their personal best under the disciplined and kind supervision rules of Dr Saadat.

We had a vey organised clinical preparation schedule including all the components of clinical exam, which helped a lot in our exam.

All the credit goes to Dr Saadat Dr-Saadat Shah for managing such a big platform and making Dermatology exams much easier than they used to be.

JazakAllah Sir. Many prayers for you.

My request was accepted within a week. The continuous push and strictness is very essential to pass this tough exam as we get easily demotivated and loose hope and find it extremely difficult to balance both personal life and studies(especially after marriage and kids). This platform was continuous motivation to keep struggling. There was a time when reading about other candidates who passed the exam and had a major transition from candidate to cosultant seemed a “Mojza”. But Allah was kind enough to include me in them one day. During both failure and success Dermafolder was a constant motivation for me.. After joining it I came to know about the true meaning of discipline and dedication. I have never known anyone in my life who is as dedicated as Dr Saadat and Dermafolder team. I think very less people are blessed with this type of selfless attitude,to help others, without any favour in return.(May Allah give Ajar to Dr Saadat and his team).
My only tip to juniors is that “Keep Trying”, NEVER loose hope. Everyone has ups and downs. No-one gets success overnight. Your success is written in your destiny by Allah . The only thing u have to do is have faith in u and in your Creator. He will never leave u alone There will be one day when u will be writing your Success story here. Keep trying till then.

It had been a year since i finished my training and i had to join another hospital which is basically a chest hospital and i wondered back then if i will forget every thing i learnt during my training as many of my colleagues thought its does happen if you loose touch with derma…

I kept trying to focus on my own for six months and couldnt really get a grip on things ..luckily a friend suggested Derma Folder© to me and i text dr saadat …i never imagined it to be such a big platform but to my surprise, the moment i was added in the group and a swarm of messages were coming from candidates ,probably it was slide session of 9 pm and from there on i knew that this will make a huge difference not only for exam but also many concepts ..going for exam that day i remember listening to respected Dr-Saadat Shah consultation audios till the end 🙂

Salam everyone :Dr.Anees here.I did my FCPS training from Services Hospital Lahore. Clearing part 2 seemed to be very difficult as i faced few challenges during my training. Inshort! my mother was sick and i was unable to concentrate on studies and she later died( May she rest in peace). After completing training i joined dermatology dept mayo hospital late in 2019.my dept was very cooperative, but it took multiple attempts to clear written exam. After clearing written exam i joined Dermafolder on the advice of seniors and it was a very good decision. There was a sense of responsibility to clear the tasks and a constant fear of being expelled by dr.saadat,it kept me driving and i extracted anything that I needed from the group. After a few tiring weeks i cleared the toacs and viva in first attempt and credit goes to my family,my supervisor Prof.Dr.Shahbaz aman(sims),Prof Dr.Ijaz hussain (HOD mayo),seniors from mayo and from dermafolder especially dr.saadat who had created such an organized group and made selfless efforts to keep it going.

So i joined Derma folder during my theory prep in the last year of training and it was a great blessing and a reality check for the preparations. For viva and toacs prep, the group was immensely helpful in polishing the skills and pointing out the mistakes where we lacked.

I believe this group was a help from Allah for me at the final stage, and i cleared my all steps of exam in first attempt. Alhamdulilah.

Kudos to Dr Saadat shah for this well structured group .

Assalamu alaikum everyone! I’m Dr. Neha Rana and I completed my FCPS training from Civil Hospital Karachi in 2023. I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Derma Folder community, which has been an invaluable resource for me throughout my training and exam preparation. This platform, led by Dr-Saadat Shah , brings together dermatology candidates and consultants from all over the country to share knowledge and expertise under one roof, completely free of charge! I’ve greatly benefited from the discussions and questions shared here, which even helped me answer some questions during my theory exam. What’s more, I was assigned a task to answer questions on mycosis fungoides, which surprisingly appeared in my viva long case exam! This group is a blessing for all exam candidates, and I’m thankful to Dr. Saadat Shah for his tireless efforts in running this group and maintaining its decorum. His dedication has created a supportive and knowledge-rich environment that has made a significant impact on my journey.
